Dr. Deepika Deka, alumnus GMC 1972 batch made us proud winning the following awards in the recently concluded All India Congress of Obstetrics & Gynaecology (AICOG) 2011 at Hyderabad.
1. Book ‘An Introduction to Genetics & Fetal Medicine’ Edited by Dr. Deepika Deka and Dr. N. Malhotra – BEST FOGSI PUBLICATION.
2. Dr. C.S. Dawn BEST PAPER PRIZE (senior category) – Operative Obstetrics - ' Fetal Endoscopy- step towards Fetal Therapy'.
The paper was based on 11 cases of Fetoscopy performed by her at the All India Institute of Medical Science (AIIMS), New Delhi.
Dr. Deepika Deka is presently working as Professor of O & G at AIIMS. She is also a member of Executive Council of GMCAA and sponsor of ‘GMCAA Dr. Deepika Deka Best Graduate of the year Award’
and ‘GMCAA Dr. Deepika Deka Best Post-Graduate (O & G) of the year Award’.
Dr. Deepika Deka, apart from being an outstanding student of GMC with brilliant academic career she was also a badminton player of repute. She represented GMC in All Assam & Inter Medical Table Tennis and Badminton Championships held at Guwahati in 1975 in Badminton team event and won the runners up trophy in the Women’s team championship. This championship was held amongst GMC, AMC, SMC and RMC Imphal.
